Group Classes or Private Lessons I receive phone calls regularly of people ready to start Tai Chi and they wonder if they should do private lessons or group classes. Both private lessons and group classes have their own benefits.
Group Classes have the benefit of being less costly and also wonderful dynamics of different personalities. On this website, I have the quote “One of the benefits of Tai Chi is Tai Chi friends.” Just take a few Tai Chi classes and you will feel the connection of people who are working at wellness.
In Private Lessons, specific focus can be made for individual health concerns and also for individual learning styles. The benefit of private sessions is a deeper focus of attention than what can be achieved in a group of people. Private classes are more costly, though money well spent in focusing on specific individual needs. Also Qigong sets that help your specific health concerns can be created in private lessons.
Here are a few ways people coordinate class time. · Some people do a few private lessons before starting group classes. This gives them the opportunity to learn the basics so that they feel comfortable doing tai chi within a group. · Some people do group lessons primarily then occasionally do private lessons for deeper understanding and specific focus to lean a form. · Some people only do group lessons. They attend classes that are on the schedule. With the classes listed on the schedule you may attend any of the classes that fit into your schedule. · Some people only do private lessons. Sometimes group classes just will not fit into your schedule or you know that you do better one on one with learning. We schedule time that works for both you and me. Some people do weekly, biweekly or even monthly.
